Date: May 25, 2025
Text: Acts 13:22, 36
“And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king… ‘I have found David the son ofJesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’ …For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep…”
RECAP FROM LAST SUNDAY
• The kingdom of darkness fights your spiritual understanding because alignment produces manifested sonship.
• Alignment positions you in God’s plan, where His sovereign will is fulfilled.
• Creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God — when heaven and earth align.
I. INTRODUCTION: MINISTRY IS NOT OPTIONAL
• The Ministry of the Saints is foundational, not optional.
• You were predestined, equipped, and placed in a generation that needs what God put in you.
Ephesians 4:12 — Five-fold is for equipping (katartismos = mending, preparing) Not for spotlight, but for strategy.
• “Work of Ministry” = ergon diakonias — active spiritual service.
• Every believer is called to release, not just receive.
UNDERSTAND THIS: The saints are not an audience — they are an army.
II. DAVID SERVED IN RHYTHM WITH HEAVEN
Acts 13:36 — “David served his generation by the will of God…”
• “Served” – hupēretēsen: to serve under authority like an under-rower.
➤ David didn’t freelance — he rowed in sync with God’s rhythm.
III. CADENCE DEFINED
Cadence = rhythm, order, synchronized movement.
• Military cadence keeps a unit moving as one.
➤ Cadence brings unity, discipline, and harmony.
Thought:
Heaven has a cadence.
The Spirit moves not erratically but with divine rhythm and timing.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 — “To everything there is a season…”
• Hebrew: ʿēt — appointed time (kairos).
Galatians 5:25 — “Walk in the Spirit”
• stoicheō — march in step, keep rank.
Hebrew: halak = daily, disciplined walk.
• Connected to halakah — "the way to walk" in Torah.
➤ Obedience has a rhythm.
IV. SERVING IN KINGDOM TIMING
• Ministry isn’t just about doing God’s will — it’s about doing it in God’s timing.
• Heaven’s power flows in heaven’s cadence.
➤ Israel missed their moment by listening to fear (ten spies) — went out of step, and missed the promise.
Exodus 13:21 — Israel had to follow the cloud.
• Move too early = no covering.
• Move too late = lose direction.
V. DIVINE WILL & STRATEGIC PURPOSE
• “By the will of God” — Greek: boulē = deliberate counsel, strategic plan.
Hebraic thought: Will = function + covenant alignment.
David didn’t follow trends or emotions — he aligned with eternal counsel.
VI. DISPENSATION & DIVINE ADMINISTRATION
Ephesians 1:10 — “Dispensation of the fullness of times...”
• Oikonomia = administration, management of God’s household plan.
• Dispensation is a strategic arrangement — not just a timeframe.
Ephesians 1:11 — “works all things after the counsel of His will”
➤ You are predestined, strategically placed, called for this generation. Galatians 4:4 — Jesus camein the fullness (plērōma) of time — perfectly aligned.
➤ Now, we serve in the dispensation of grace — to reveal Christ.
VII. HEART POSTURE: SUBMISSION & SURRENDER
Acts 13:22 — “A man after My own heart, who will do all My will”
• Poieō — to produce, make.
• David’s heart was compliant, not just passionate.
➤ God doesn’t synchronize with your will — you synchronize with His.
Luke 22:42 — “Not My will, but Yours…”
Hebrews 10:7 / Psalm 40:7–8 — Jesus came to fulfill what was already written in heaven.
• “Volume of the book” = scroll (kephalis biblion) = life’s heavenly record.
• Hebrew: megillah = divine assignment pre-authored by God.
VIII. CALL TO REPENTANCE & ALIGNMENT
• If you’ve been out of rhythm — repent and return.
• This next move of God will flow through the submitted, not just the gifted.
➤ You won’t find your rhythm until you find your “Nevertheless.”
IX. ALIGNMENT REQUIRES PARTICIPATION
Esther 4:14 — “Born for such a time as this…”
• Hebrew: ʿēt = divine appointment.
➤ You can be born for a time and still miss the timing if out of sync.
Esther had:
• The position — but needed submission.
• Mordecai warned: You can miss your moment.
➤ God’s will is sovereign — but your obedience determines your participation.
X. BIBLICAL PARALLELS: MISSED MOMENTS
1 Samuel 13:13 — Saul missed his moment and lost his kingdom. Luke 19:44 — Jerusalem missed their visitation.
Quote:
“Destiny doesn’t just require discovery — it demands alignment. If you don’t yield to God’s rhythm, your moment can pass to someone else.”
CALL TO ACTION
“What if this is your moment?
What if this is the time written in your book?
Will you respond like Esther? Or miss your moment like Saul?”
