Resurrection Sunday Sermon Notes

Apr 20, 2025    Apostle Tyronne McCreary

The Resurrection Is More Than a Moment — It’s a Mission

The resurrection is not only about salvation — it’s about activation.

The church has often celebrated the saving power of resurrection but overlooked its sending power.

➤ Key Verse: John 20:21 – “As the Father has sent me, I also send you.”

Five Things the Resurrection Unlocks for the Ecclesia

New Creation Identity

2 Corinthians 5:17 – “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation…”

We aren’t just forgiven; we are citizens of a new kingdom with a kingdom purpose.

Access to Resurrection Power

Romans 8:11 – “The Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you.”

Power not just for sanctification, but for mobilization and fearless obedience.

Mandate to Govern

Matthew 16:18–19 – “I will build my church… I give you the keys of the kingdom.”

Church = Ekklesia — a governing body, not just a gathering.

We are called to legislate Heaven’s will on Earth.

Heavenly Realm Access

Ephesians 2:6 – “Raised us up with Christ… seated in heavenly places.”

Operate from victory, not for it.

The church is called to live from a heavenly dimension, not just reach for it.

Activation of Every Believer’s Ministry

Ephesians 4:8–12 – “He gave gifts to men… for the work of ministry.”

Ministry is the passionate expression of God’s authority in covenant form.

No one is saved to be passive — every believer is called.

Key Scriptures

Matthew 16:13–19 – Revelation of Christ and commissioning of the church.

Romans 8:11 – Resurrection power lives in us.

Ephesians 2:6 – Seated with Christ.

Ephesians 4:8–12 – Gifts for equipping the saints.

2 Corinthians 5:14–17 – Love compels us; we no longer live for ourselves.

Luke 19:13 – “Occupy till I come.”

Matthew 28:18–20 – The Great Commission.

Summary:

Resurrection Sunday is not just a remembrance — it’s a recommissioning. Christ’s resurrection isn’t only about our forgiveness, but about our awakening to purpose, authority, and spiritual government on Earth. The ecclesia — the called-out governing body of Christ — is activated to reflect Heaven’s culture. Jesus got up, and now He says, “You get up too.” We are raised with Him not just for eternity, but for now.

Let’s refuse to drift. Let’s reject fragmented living, abide intentionally in Christ, and silence distractions. Let the love of Christ compel you. The resurrection wasn’t just His — it’s ours.

Call to Action

Activate your gifts — your time, talent, and anointing matter to God’s mission.

Stay in God-consciousness — don’t drift back to self-awareness and routine.

Declare — bind what is out of alignment and loose what is fenced in with divine authority.
